The three members of the Mag Seven include Toadies and Hagfish bassist Doni Blair, Dan Phillips (True Widow, Slowride) and Scott Brayfield (Slowride, Here Holy Spain).

The Mag Seven created a new hybrid of instrumental rock grounded in surf, punk, rockabilly and indie rock on their 1999 debut release Eight Round Knockout. Their new offering, Use Your Powers for Good, Not Evil, shows the band continuing to evolve, taking these various styles into a straight ahead melodic rock sound that is a force to be reckoned with.
